Today Captain Al applied a quick coat of paint on the deck and added non skid. The video below is from the prior restoration of a 23 Mako. Al used the same technique.

Captain Al has fished the Great South Bay with his 23 Mako and over the years he has modified his rod holders configuration from the original factory configuration to best suit his needs. Because there is no t-T-Top more rod storage is available.

The final sanding of the console was completed today. Any imperfections were filled with Formular 27 and sanded smooth.

    1979 23 Mako

    The owner originally purchase this classic from Texas and has been fishing the great South Bay of Long Island with her ever since. A major concern with a boat of her age are the fuel tanks. She will be fitted with a new tank among other major improvements.
